What is the U.E.C.C ?
The UECC is a vision and a passionate dream I have for the development of a United European Church Community, where Churches and church leaders across every city and nation in Europe unite together, by focusing on what we agree upon, rather than being focused on upholding our traditions or differences as Churches, and existing in disagreement. The UECC goal is to unite Churches and Church leaders to realise that there is one major thing that we all agree upon, and that there is SALVATION IN CHRIST, and whether we have other smaller doctrinal differences is irrelevant, when considering the DECLINING situation of the Church and the lack of influence with the future generations of today.
The UECC is only a vision and I do not consider it to be the answer, but I do believe the concept is urgent and essential if we are to make any difference to a Europe that’s in a state of emergency. A church emergency where this generation is walking further away from any connection or understanding of God, an emergency where this generation and others see the Church as irrelevant and out of date. This can be changed and adjusted through Leaders who with Kingdom vision, passion and commitment, begin to adjust language, culture and thinking toward the Church, and to believe for the Church to UNITE as one, and take its place in the community to make a powerful difference in the lives of people.
I am under no delusion or pipe dream that this vision can be achieved in a short period of time. The vision for the UECC is a Kingdom commitment for the next 20 -25 years, which will set the foundation for 1000’s of committed and fully established Churches across Europe, so that the younger generation of today, and those still to be born can find a Church in any city and nation of Europe, that is full of vision, exciting and passionate, to give them a relevant Church where they can find hope for their future through Jesus Christ.
The UECC is the acronym for a united Church Movement called the United European Church Community. It is not another denomination, but an ideal or a model for a United Church, where as leaders we forget what lies behind, no longer focusing on our theological differences and traditions we uphold, but decide to unite and come together, perhaps annually through innovative conferences and conventions, being interested in each others progress, and willing to encourage each other as a Church and Church leaders, determined to serve Christ as one. This is a vision where we keep our denominational uniqueness, but co-exist together as the Church of Europe united in what makes us One, and together administrating God’s eternal purpose through CHRIST. (Ephesians 3:10,11)
In comparison to the Church the European Union, the EU, has vision for a united secular Europe, and this vision boasts of a secular community that is strong in principles of Humanism and Secularism. As the Church today we are faced with the EU vision of a Europe without God, a Europe that is emerging quickly in unity of vision and belief, where this generation is jumping on board with the secular, believing in causes like Green Peace, Global Warming and Global Economies, because to them the Church appears irrelevant and out of place. You can add to this that they do not see or feel that the Church is in any way indicating that there is a powerful and positive alternative for life, which provides answers of hope to life’s biggest questions. The moral fibre and structure of society, which was originally founded on the Bible, is breaking down and collapsing, under the pressure of godless secular thinking and immorality, causing our future generations world wide to be under a system that threatens and undermines the Will and Purpose of God.
I believe that adjustments can be made, and these adjustments come through the Leaderships desire for positive and effective change. In most churches I believe that change needs to be immediate, because in Europe we are struggling as the Church to make a meaningful difference, and this is having an eternal significance on millions of people’s lives.
The church is the answer
